Jennie C. Jones
Jennie C. Jones is a sound and visual artist whose work looks at, “listening as a conceptual practice.” In her world, the visual and aural are in a constant interplay. She also has a love for jazz and plays with some of the greats in unexpected, surprising and resonant ways.
Her recent site-specific work, Ensemble, was commissioned by The Metropolitan Museum of Art for their ongoing Roof Garden series of sculptures. Ensemble is a series of acoustic sculptures. In her paintings, sculptures, works on paper, installations, and audio compositions, Jones uses sound to respond to the legacy of minimalism and to modernism itself.
